Step 1: Preheat grill to medium.
Step 2: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, green onion, garlic, cilantro, ginger root, Thai chili sauces, soy sauce salt pepper, lime juice and zest. Mix well. Lightly shape into 5 half-inch-thick patties.
Step 3: Cover and refrigerate the patties for 1 hour (no more than an hour, there's acid in the lime juice and will turn the meat white).
Step 4: Place burgers directly on greased grill grates and cook until instant read thermometer registers 160 degrees, about 7 to 8 minutes. Turn burgers once while grilling.
Step 5: Serve each burger with a lettuce leaf and bun.
