Step 1: Place the cooled cake on a serving plate.
Step 2: In a small mixing bowl beat the cream cheese with sugar until smooth and fluffy; fold in the thawed Cool Whip.
Step 3: Spread the cherry pie filling over the chocolate cake then spread the cream cheese mixture over the cherry pie filling.
Step 4: Refrigerate for 4 or more hours before serving.
