Step 1: Peel and core apples, and cut in eighths. (I use my apple corer/slicer and then just peel the slices)
Step 2: Place in a baking dish, and dot with butter.
Step 3: Sprinkle generously with cinnamon-sugar.
Step 4: Bake in microwave on HIGH for about 10 minutes, or until fork inserts easily, stirring at least once.
Step 5: Remove from microwave, and set aside.
Step 6: In saucepan bring flour, sugar and milk to a boil over medium heat (it will be thick) stirring constantly.
Step 7: Remove from heat, add vanilla, and stir well.
Step 8: Pour over apples, and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, if you desire.
Step 9: Serve hot or let cool some.
