Step 1: Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Lightly grease parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
Step 3: While oven is heating combine flour,baking soda,&salt into a small bowl and set aside.
Step 4: In a large bowl cream together shortening and both sugars until creamy.
Step 5: Then beat in egg and vanilla.
Step 6: Alternately mix in flour mixture with 2 tablespoons of milk.
Step 7: Stir in oats and pieces.
Step 8: Drop by 1/8th cupfuls onto cookie sheet.
Step 9: Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Step 10: Cool 10 minutes on cookie sheet then remove to wire rack to finish cooling.
