Step 1: Rinse and drain the chickpeas. Place on a paper towel and remove the outer skins.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, using a fork or potato masher smash the chickpeas and avocado together.
Step 3: Add in garlic powder, green onion, lime juice, and chopped cilantro.
Step 4: Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Step 5: Spread on toasted bread and top with your favorite sandwich toppings.
