Step 1: Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Step 2: In a bowl toss the broccoli and 3 tablespoons oil; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Transfer to rimmed baking sheet.
Step 3: Roast for 15 minutes.
Step 4: In a small bowl stir in remaining oil (1/2 tablespoon), garlic and red pepper flakes. Drizzle mixture over the broccoli; toss.
Step 5: Roast 8-10 minutes longer or when broccoli begins to brown.
Step 6: Season to taste with salt and pepper.
