Step 1: In a small bowl, combine the coconut, sugar, flour, salt and vanilla; mix well.
Step 2: Stir in egg whites.
Step 3: Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.
Step 4: Bake at 325° for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 5: Cool on a wire rack. Yield: about 1-1/2 dozen.
