Step 1: Fill a 4 quart pot half way with water; add 1 1/2-2 teaspoons salt. Bring water to a boil.
Step 2: Add trimmed green beans to boiling water; cook for 5 minutes, or until the green beans are just tender. If your green beans are fresh and young, they should cook quickly. Cook longer if necessary.
Step 3: When beans are just tender, remove the beans from the the hot water. Place beans into a bowl of iced water to quickly stop the cooking. Return drained beans to the empty pot.
Step 4: While beans are cooking stir together orange marmalade, soy sauce, and hot sauce. Taste and adjust to your taste. If your marmalade is a bit tart, you may want to add a teaspoon or two of sugar. If your soy sauce isn't very salty, you may want to add a little more soy sauce, or a bit of salt. Add more hot sauce if you want the sauce spicier.
Step 5: Over medium heat, quickly heat the beans. Add the marmalade sauce to the cooked green beans and toss to coat.
Step 6: Serve immediately, or at room temperature.
