Step 1: Cream shortening and sugars. Add molasses.
Step 2: Sift dry ingredients.
Step 3: Beat eggs til fluffy and add to creamed mixture. Add half of flour mixture.
Step 4: Add 3 packages chocolate chips (i.e. 7 cups).
Step 5: Add rest of flour and oatmeal. (Don says really hard to mix at this point) and it is you need a very large bowl
Step 6: Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400°F (I went about 11 to 12 minutes they come out a little brown because of molasses, Don has old oven--check sooner).
Step 7: Not sure how many this makes. My best guess--a lot. I did about 60 cookies a a teaspoon and still had alot of batter left.
