Step 1: Preheat oven to 350º F. Butter a pie plate, or spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
Step 2: In a large bowl toss the stale bread cubes with chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and salt.
Step 3: In a small bowl whisk the eggs. Mix in milk and vanilla. Drizzle over the bread mixture, then toss coating them. Transfer into prepared pie plate.
Step 4: Bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
Step 5: Allow to set for about 5 minutes before serving.
Step 6: Drizzle with caramel sauce for serving.
