Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Line a 9 inch square pan with foil,with ends of foil coming over the sides of pan and spray with cooking spray.
Step 3: In a large bowl cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Add eggs and vanilla,mixing well.
Step 5: Add flour,baking powder,and salt mixing well.
Step 6: Stir in chocolate and pecans.
Step 7: Spread onto bottom of prepared pan.(mixture will be slightly thick)
Step 8: Bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Step 9: When brownies have cooled,use foil handles to lift brownies before cutting into squares.
