Step 1: Put 2 cloves of garlic through a garlic press and mix with the soy sauce, mirin, rice vinegar, molasses, cornstarch, ginger and sesame oil; whisk together in a sauce pan and bring to medium-low heat.
Step 2: Bring to a simmer, while stirring constantly, and continue to simmer until sauce thickens; set aside.
Step 3: Slice the ribs into portion sizes.
Step 4: In a large heavy bottomed pot, bring the ribs, ginger ale, 1 cup water and 2 cloves garlic to a boil over high heat.
Step 5: Reduce heat to medium and simmer uncovered, until liquid is reduced by half, about 30 minutes.
Step 6: Drain, gently pat dry and brush with sauce.
