Step 1: Combine all ingredients in a large pot, cover, and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until flavors are blended.
Step 2: To cook in a slow cooker, add all ingredients to slow cooker, cover, and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
