Step 1: In a large skillet brown the sausages, drain any fat.
Step 2: In a 5 quart slow cooker place half the onion and sauerkraut.
Step 3: Top with all the sausages
Step 4: Add remaingonion and kraut
Step 5: Pour in the beer
Step 6: Cook for 6 1/2 hours on low.
Step 7: Turn on broiler
Step 8: Mix together the mayo, chili sauce, ketchup, chopped onion, relish, garlic and pepper
Step 9: Stir until well mixed, set aside.
Step 10: When the bratwurst are ready, place Hoagie buns cut open on an oven proof tray.
Step 11: Evenly spread the chili mixture on one side of the buns, top with the drained sauerkraut mixture, a bratwurst and a slice of cheese.
Step 12: Broil until the cheese has melted approx 4 minutes.
Step 13: Enjoy.
