Step 1: In a heavy dutch oven, place the chicken and vegetables. Add a pinch of dill weed and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Pour chicken broth over so that everything is submerged.
Step 2: Cook at least 1 hour. Attempt to remove as many bones as possible. Add a handful of barley and cook another hour.
Step 3: Serve
