Step 1: In a medium saucepan, saute bell pepper and onion in hot oil until onion is translucent. Add minced garlic. Saute 1-2 minutes.
Step 2: Stir in chili flakes, chili powder, and mustard.
Step 3: Add TVP, broth or water, ketchup, and soy sauce, salt and pepper; stir well. Cover and bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat, simmering for 25-30 minutes covered.
Step 4: Remove lid and simmer for 5 minutes more, stirring frequently until most of liquid has evaporated.
Step 5: Season with more salt and pepper to taste if needed.
Step 6: Serve hot on toasted sandwich buns, with onion slices and nutritional yeast if desired.
