  • 1 ounce yeast (1 package)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Filling
  • 12 ounces Solo poppyseed filling (1 can)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted

How to Make

  • Step 1: Whisk dry ingredients together and make a well in the center.

  • Step 2: Mix wet ingredients together, melt butter in scalded milk.

  • Step 3: When lukewarm add egg yolks and vanilla.

  • Step 4: Mix into dry ingredients.

  • Step 5: Mix put in greased bowl to rise and cover.

  • Step 6: Let rise until double in volume.

  • Step 7: Punch down, and let rise again.

  • Step 8: Pinch off dough.

  • Step 9: Put in buttered pan.

  • Step 10: Put a tablespoon of filling in center read my other Kolače recipes to get what they do.

  • Step 11: Let rise until double.

  • Step 12: Preheat oven to 350F. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned, they were using wood stove back then.

  • Step 13: Sprinkle powdered sugar on baked Kolače.
