The ingredients are:
  • 4 cups celery, sliced
  • 6 ounces water chestnuts, chopped (1 can)
  • 10 ounces cream of chicken soup (1 can)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • Topping
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Cook celery for 8 minutes in water and drain.

  • Step 3: Put into casserole dish with chestnuts and chicken soup.

  • Step 4: Lightly season to taste.

  • Step 5: Bake at 350 for 20 minutes with cover on.

  • Step 6: In a sauté pan, melt butter, breadcrumbs and almonds.

  • Step 7: Brown lightly.

  • Step 8: Then uncover the casserole pan and put breadcrumbs, almonds, butter mixture on top.

  • Step 9: Bake 10 minutes longer uncovered.
