Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • FOR CRUMBLE
  • 10 1/2 ounces flour (plain, sieved)
  • Salt, pinch
  • 6 ounces brown sugar
  • 7 ounces unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • FOR FILLING
  • 1 pound apples (peeled, cored cut into 1/2 inch pieces)
  • 2 ounces brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350

  • Step 2: Place sugar, flour and salt in a bowl mix well. Add small cubes of butter at time rubbing until mixture resembles breadcrumbs

  • Step 3: Place apples in a medium bowl and sprinkle over flour, cinnamon and brown sugar. Mix well not breaking up the fruit

  • Step 4: Butter a 9 inch ovenproof dish and place filling in it. Sprinkle the crumble over the top

  • Step 5: Place in oven for 45 minutes until mixture is bubbling

  • Step 6: Serve with custard, cream or ice cream
