Step 1: Thoroughly mix butter, sugar, flavoring
Step 2: Add flour, and salt. If dough is too dry, add 3 to 4 teaspoons milk
Step 3: Shape dough into roll 2 inches in diameter and roll in chopped recans
Step 4: Wrap roll and refrigerate 4 hours
Step 5: Heat oven to 400
Step 6: Cut rolls into 1/8 inch slices
Step 7: Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet
Step 8: Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown
Step 9: Immediately remove from baking sheet
