"I found this recipe at the fish market. I lost it and I am hoping this is the recipe I originally lost. I found this online at Manettas Seafood Market, so I think I might be on the right Scallop Train....lol. I have never made it but would like to try and make it for the family. The recipe states that these Scallops can be served as a starter on their own, or served over pasta, rice or vegetables as a main course."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large pan on medium-high heat until hot; add the scallops to the pan in a single layer.

Step 2

Season scallops with salt and pepper and fry for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and fry other side for 2 minutes until lightly browned and cooked through then remove from skillet.

Step 3

Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan, scraping up any browned bits left over from the scallops. Add in the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.

This scallop dish is wonderful! I used bay scallops (340g) for the two of us and it was generous amount. Served it over pan roasted veggies (fennel, leek, parsnips, carrots and swiss chard). I think a splash of heavy cream would be delightful as a finish. Fast and easy to make on a busy day with great results. Thank you for sharing Tis! Made for Billboard Recipe Tag.
