"This chicken is delicious and trust me it's a real time-saver. The Chicken is oven-baked low and slow ahead of time, so when guests arrive, pop the chicken on the grill for a short time just to heat through. Spices and brown sugar amounts are for 6 pounds of thighs and legs, everything can be doubled, tripled or more depending on how many people you are serving."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 300F.
Step 2
In a small bowl combine spice rub ingredients (EXCEPT the BBQ sauce). Rub it all over the chicken pieces and then arrange chicken in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour.
Step 3
Let cool for 15 minutes on the counter. Brush all sides of each piece of baked chicken with about 2-3 tablespoons of BBQ sauce. Cover and refrigerate until guests arrive.
Step 4
When ready to serve the chicken to your guests, prepare grill for direct cooking over medium-high heat. Add on chicken pieces and cook until grill marks appear on underside, 4-5 minutes. Flip and cook until heated through, another 4-5 minutes.
You could baste with more sauce halfway through cooking the chicken but it really is not necessary as it hides the grill marks on the chicken
