Step by Step Method
Step 1
Fry rice in oil with onion on low heat for about 10 minutes with a wooden spoon until it makes a swishing sound (I'm guessing your going to hear this 10 minutes in) this is important for dry Brazilian rice
Step 2
Add tomatoes then stir once or twice
Step 3
Remove from the heat.
Step 4
Add in 2 cups boiling water combined with salt. Cover and cook on low for 20 minutes but do not stir (check to see if cooked if not add last cup of hot water). Return to heat
Step 5
When rice is done, remove lid and allow to steam. Serve warm
