We retired to our house on Lake Champlain 8 years ago. We love waking up to the constantly changing environment of our surroundings no matter what time of year - we are lucky!! We live in a small town on the NY side of the lake and enjoy boating, quilting, sewing, basketweaving, and entertaining family and friends. My mother was a great cook, but it did not get passed down to me. My meals are mostly nutritious, but definitely short-order, get it on the table fast, style of cooking - nothing fancy - so you will see very few recipes from me. But, I love reading cookbooks, love exploring all the recipe sites, and love trying new recipes! I am actually venturing out because of all the recipes available and becoming a better cook thanks to all of you!!!
I bought a large pork loin and sectioned it in 3 parts for our family. The first one I roasted and it was so lacking in flavor, even after using a rub. For the second piece, I went searching for a recipe that would bring some flavor to this piece of meat and I found it in this recipe! It was excellent, great flavor, meat very tender, and everyone loved it. I followed the recipe to a "T", using only a few slivers of garlic, and it was outstanding! French dressing and cranberries - who would have thought this would be so good!! I can't wait to make this again with the remaining piece of pork. Thanks Kitten for a great recipe!
