I was so excited to try this recipe when I bought a beautiful prime rib roast. But, sadly this technique did not work for me. I had a 4.6 lb roast and cooked it in my gas oven at 550 degrees Fahrenheit for 28 minutes. I turned the oven off as directed and left it for 2 hours. When I took the roast out and cut into it it was blue rare. So disappointing. But, I did put it back in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for another hour and it came out very tasty and in between medium to medium rare. I was very happy I was able to salvage this expensive roast

Lovely photo's Bea.
I am sure my carnivore hubby would not have minded it. He would have love it as a matter of a fact!

Thx Bergy. I was just glad it was just DH and I. We had a salad while waiting for it to be ready, lol.
