Been a very unusual summer here too, a long cold start to spring, then one lot of days with heat alerts and of course many days of smoke from the wildfires, some days from the west, the south and the east. So sorry for those near the fires. Today there seems to be a concern for frost tonight, will be picking and have my bin of harvest blankets at the ready to cover if that is happening. Right now the sun is shining so remain hoping we miss the frost as the rest of the week is supposed to be back to warm temps. Love, love warm and sunny!

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I have popped in here, it's been a busy year, lots of changes.... Things are starting to settle down now and I am looking forward to getting back to cooking and hanging around.
It looks like fall is finally upon us here, it's starting to cool off and the leaves are turning colors, I love this time of year!!

Not much going on here,
except trying to catch up on the stuff that I didn't
get done this past week.

Bittersweet day - a former co-worker and friend passed away this morning. I taught both of her kids; they were her world. And this afternoon, I attended the wedding of another former student, and whose mother is a dear co-worker and friend. The groom did a sweet tribute to the bride's deceased father (whom I also worked with and had passed away a few short years ago) - not a dry eye anywhere. I am just about cried out for a bit.

Crazy Fall weather

Post by Shadows1 » Sat Nov 03, 2018 1:00 pm

It has gone from summer like temps to late fall and back again. My wife's miniature roses are blooming again and they only bloom spring to mid summer! We also have crocus poking through the soil.

I'm pretty sure we skipped fall and went straight to winter.

Kind of been busy here. My illness had raised it's ugly head full force. I am just now getting it to the point I can try simple cooking again. Also we are getting ready to welcome are 9th grand child last part of Dec, early Jan.

Sorry you have been enduring health issues, Shadows. But I'm very happy to hear about the new addition to your family coming! I hope the delivery goes well, and mother and child will be healthy.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
