Oscars?
I thought most of the stars this year looked very nice - very few ghastly outfits. A few I didn't like as much as others, but overall, I thought they dressed really nicely. However, one thing really irritated me - what was Angelina Jolie doing with her leg all night? Every chance she could get, she stuck her bare leg out through the slit in her otherwise pretty dress and posted in a "come and get me" position. I thought she looked ridiculous doing that - it was so deliberate and obvious. It was hilarious later when one of the male award winners jokingly posed just like Angelinaand then they went back to her with a sour look on her face.

Re: Oscars?
Dresses, many nice ones. NOT too many BAD ones
Angelina looked terrible and acted bad
Movies, None I have seen. None I would want to see
I think I saw the whole think in 45 minutes. The pre-show was more entertaining, and I DVR'ed that too. 20 minutes and done.
Personally, glad they are over.
I know ... many people love them. NOT me.

Re: Oscars?
I agree - she looked unhealthy. She is very beautiful, but the bony arms and waistline to make Scarlett O'Hara faint was unattractive.Kittencal wrote:LMAO!! yeah I agree that that leg thing was so funnyshe looks anorexia, I've never seen her look so terrible those arms were like toothpicks
I did like the opening too - not quite as great as Billy had done before, I agree, yet still very entertaining. That and the Cirque du Soleil number were the highlights for me. I didn't really care about the awards this year, since I hadn't seen anything. I think I would like to see The Artist, it looks interesting. I loved the dog up on stage helping to receive the award for his film.
It was nice to see a year where the big winners were a film about the silent film era starring a cute dog and a children's film. I'd like to see Hugo. I was happy to see the Muppets win an award too and it was cute having Kermit and Miss Piggy in the balcony watching and commenting on the show.
Re: Oscars?
I love Billy Crystal and thought he did a great job -- so much better than anyone else in recent years. I loved the introduction clip -- when George Clooney kissed him!!!!
I thought Sacha Baron Cohen was FAR, FAR out of place showing up dressed the way he was AND dumping the ashes on Ryan Seacrest took it WAY over the top. That was NOT the time and place for him to try and promote a new movie. I didn't have a whole lot of respect for him in the first place -- now it's zilch!!!!
I love that Christopher Plummer won and also Meryl Streep.
I haven't seen any of the nominated movies . . . but there definitely are a couple I'd love to see (especially The Artist and Hugo).
All in all I thought it was one of the more entertaining and smoothly run Oscar programs in recent years.

But, yes.....her look-at-my-leg pose was strange. And she looked hungry.
I'm an Oscar geek. I see most of the nominated movies every year, and I, for one, was happy that Eddie Murphy backed out so Billy Crystal could bring back his brand of magic. I think he pulled it off.
Re: Oscars?
I didn't see any photos of Angelia with both legs exposed (but I'm sure they are there) -- I only saw the ones with her one leg positioned in such a way that it made my muscles ache!!!! I agree -- Billy Crystal is THE GUY for the host!!!!!justsandy wrote:Just an FYI....the photos on the net this morning of Angelina Jolie posing with both legs out of side slits and the dress draping between her legs was photoshopped. She actually only had one leg out.

The photoshopped pics were hysterical, but I'm sure some people thought it was real.Bobbie wrote:I didn't see any photos of Angelia with both legs exposed (but I'm sure they are there) -- I only saw the ones with her one leg positioned in such a way that it made my muscles ache!!!! You said you'd like to see The Artist. Oh, do. It was charming and wonderful, and you'll give it extra credit if you like tap dancing!

Sandy, I believe it -- people are so easily "duped".justsandy wrote:The photoshopped pics were hysterical, but I'm sure some people thought it was real.Bobbie wrote:I didn't see any photos of Angelia with both legs exposed (but I'm sure they are there) -- I only saw the ones with her one leg positioned in such a way that it made my muscles ache!!!! My neighbors saw "The Artist" and they haven't stopped talking about it. I'm not sure it's a movie for my husband -- but I definitely want to see it. And yes, I do enjoy tap dancing - or any other type of dancing. I'm glad you liked it and I appreciate your recommendation!!!!
