Thanksgiving & Christmas Baking
Made a traditional (not) bacon and cheddar focaccia. What are you baking these holidays?

FOCACCIA . . . now you're talking my language! Looks delicious! Too late to try today, but will make this weekend.

Hanukkah 2014 begins in the evening of Tuesday, December 16, I'll be baking but sadly not with yeast I wish I could do better baking with yeast, I've tryed many a time but my bread comes out like a rock looking at all of these lovely looking photos makes me want to try again

Have tried using instant yeast (some refer to it as bread machine yeast)? It's much easier, just mix in with the flour and continue the recipe!

I echo the vote for instant yeast. Just mix it with the flour.
I think most yeast failures come from the water being too hot. Test the water with your wrist to get a reading for lukewarm. Hot tap water is usually 20 degrees hotter than yeast can stand. Another problem is using old yeast.

Instant yeast is like instant potatoes . . . foolproof! Give it a try!
