Smoked Boston Butt

Post by Papa_D » Mon Oct 24, 2011 12:00 pm

I took a 5 1/2 pound Boston Butt pork roast and injected it with Dr. Pepper, sprinkled Cavender's All Purpose Greek Seasoning (salt free) on all sides and let marinate while I prepared my gas water smoker. I used a mix of cherry and hickory for the wood chips and smoked the roast @225°F for 6 hours. The result was a succulent moist, tender, flavorful roast.

oooooooo la la! There's just something about smoked pork butt that makes my mouth water. Love the whole series of photos -- especially the first photo. I think shots like that are so helpful when making a recipe.

oh my gosh does that look wonderful!! we had an electric smoker but last winter a icicle section fell down and broke the door off of it. we did get a check from the complex manager but nothing near what I paid for it.

I need to get hubby another smoker so we can make that boston butt roast. Photos are very good!
