Home Style Pickled Onions

Post by Tis » Thu Sep 17, 2020 10:41 pm

Not very often so I ever see pickling onions in our greengrocers ~ but when I did, I knew I had to try my hand at pickling onion's!
Keeping an eye out for more now. :)

Thanks for the inspiration Bergy.
I really don't have much oomph these days either :).
I think I was bored with the lockdown, and saw the pickling onion's and thought..... Why not. :)
But I am going to do another few jars of these, as they do taste so much better than shop bought.
You always post such beautiful and amazing photo's but 8000 food photos... whoa :o .
I never knew you had so many, that is so impressive Bergy. Well done! :)

Thanks Gerry, I know what you mean about the taste, there is no comparison in taste.
Home made are much better! I also have never seen any pickling onions for sale, but then came across them in a little local greengrocer's, who will always order them in for me if need be. :D

Nice job! I am not very enthusiastic about peeling pearl onions even with helpful tips. I am just too impatient. Bill ends up doing those for his bar garnishes.
Much needed for the martinis! :D
