Family Reunion recipes

Post by LorraineKendel » Thu Aug 23, 2012 3:45 pm

I am planning a family reunion and require meals for 2 lunches and i dinner.
I have a barb beef bun, onion salad and Kittencals great coleslaw and a bean salad for one meal but am at a loss for the other meals. Also dessert is needed. I thought a fruit brown betty would be good for one meal.

I need your help.

Thanks

Lorraine

What about making a French Dip? Shred the meat onto a platter then leave buns out and small bowls for the juice

How many people do you need to serve? And will you have electricity available (for a crock pot) and/or refrigeration available?

Sorry. Forgot to post the number.

There will be 50-80 people.
We will have electricity and a little kitchen.

Twice Baked potatoes.
You can prepare them in advance (up to 2 days) then put them in the oven to warm.

The easiest thing is to make a huge pot of pasta sauce and meatballs, and yet another thing that could be made well ahead, serve it in a few slowcookers to keep warm. When you ready to serve it boil up large amount of pasta.

Pasta is a great idea.
For some reason I didn't think of it.

We also have a fridge.

Thanks.

I've served it to a large party of people many times, the great thing about that is it can be cooked up to a week ahead, if you don't have a huge pot just make it into two smaller pots ;)

We do the big family reunions as well as large gatherings - love the gatherings! Having the food planned and in place makes for more family time. You may want to take a look over at the Potluck Forum, where you will find a wonderful selection of recipes shared by Zazz members - their favourite recipes for those special occasions

Have fun planning, the food taken care of, you can enjoy your Family Reunion! :D
