Easter at our house usually sees family travel in and gather for the holiday making for a wonderful weekend. Planning ahead assures the traditional Easter dinner must haves with an added new to us side or two, as well as the added potluck offerings make for a well rounded table and plenty of time to enjoy family time. Sharing recipes that have become part of our traditional Easter celebrations, there are givens but always new choices added in and the make and takes adding to the meal.

Whether you are planning for a family gathering for Easter Dinner, brunch or dinner for two or bringing a make and take having a plan in place makes for enjoying the holiday. Have fun in the planning and think of it as memories in the making. Do come on in and share your favourite Easter recipes, mains, appetizers, sides, salads and your favourite desserts.

Depending on the number of family members traveling in the must have main here will either be roast turkey and dressing or roast chicken and a ham.

Thank you for sharing Shadows. While I do not have a back yard smoker if the weather is promising I am thinking to making this on the BBQ using either applewood or cherry whichever I manage to find. Worked beautifully on roasts so am sure it should see to a lovely tasting ham.

For Easter breakfast: https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/easter-bread-18259 -- a bit time consuming but makes a few loaves so plenty to freeze.

My wrists limit the kneading I do, I have often thought to downsize my favorite bread and bun recipes and ones such as your Easter Bread that'd like to make to try in the bread maker, that sounds like a lovely holiday bread Ellie. Thank you for sharing, I am sure it is as wonderful tasting as your Cardamon Loaf which I have made, enjoyed and has seen to repeats!

This morning thinking to my Easter desserts, cheesecake is a holiday given at our house. With family usually arriving Thursday and some staying until Monday I like to have several make ahead desserts that are freezer friendly in my freezer stash and recipes close at hand if more are needed.

Two of our family favourite make aheads I like to have in my freezer come holiday weekend

Austrian Strawberry Torte ( the base can be made ahead it is very freezer friendly)

When the strawberries are lush and lovely I like to add LindasBusyKItchen's dipped strawberries, completely covered for the chocolate lovers as well as with the red showing which I missed when taking the photo.

Another favourite that everyone loves is the old fashioned Cherry Cha Cha which goes over as well today as it did back then. Always love when quick and easy look and taste that good.

I used to have cardamom coffee bread for a bread machine but seemed to have lost it -- saving recipes here really helps.

Oh my Gerry, all the recipes posted have me drooling, hahahaha. Great choices!!! We don't usually do pot luck for Easter but this year we decided why not.... I suggested every adult brings a dish so less cooking for me this time. My daughter will be away that week but we have our granddaughter so I will not really have time to cook a big meal. Everyone agreed and loved the idea so I am looking forward to it. I am not sure what I will be making yet but since the diner is at our house I guess I should make the main. We are 15 people this year so not too big.
