Re: Welcome to Easter at the Potluck Forum 2019
Great to see drop ins! Admittedly for the most part my Easter menu sees me preparing and cooking in my kitchen Bea, the pot luck part sees to family bringing in appetizers or side dishes to round out the table. I really like that plan of yours, preparing for 15 people takes time and am sure you will all enjoy the end result! Will be looking for photos of your Easter table. Be sure to share your Easter ideas as I love to add something new to us to our menu.
I still haven't decided on this year's menus but gathering the must make recipes and the recipes that have become part of our Easter celebrations over the years in one place. Family moves see distance a factor which I suspect will see to a smaller gathering this Easter. I will have the make aheads in my freezer stash with the final decisions made once knowing basically how many to prepare for.
Welcoming members to come on in and share your favorite Easter recipes.

These past years the chocolate Easter eggs and bunnies often disappoint which has me making the treats for the Easter baskets and serving trays. The must make at our house over the years my Chocolate Clusters which come holiday time are centred with maraschino cherries, rolled in flaked coconut and served in the pretty cupcake liners.

Another more recent find is Linda's awesome little Coconut Cream and Almond Joys shaped into chocolate eggs have become another of my favorites for the Easter basket and treat tray. For variety I pipe white to half of these little treasures.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/linda ... idays-4861
While not an Easter Egg I love these colorful slices that add a festive look to the Easter treat table. At holiday time I double this recipe.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/choco ... -roll-2699
Another of Linda's is her Butter Cream Eggs, super easy to make. Have to love when easy looks and tastes this good.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/linda ... idays-4862
Seeing Linda's beautiful 2019 Easter cookie trays it reminded me how long it's been since we decorated sugar cookies for Easter. I see a platter on for our next Easter gathering.
I will be back later with more Easter choices, meanwhile I hope others will join in and share their favourite Easter recipes.

When having company travel in I like to have plans in place for breakfasts and brunches. If the strawberries are looking good my grandma B's waffles that have been the family favorite for four generations will be a given. This morning sees me gathering recipes we have enjoyed over the Easter holidays. Sharing some of the recipes that have become part of our Easter celebrations.

A more recent addition to our Easter breakfasts is one from my grandson, not only delicious but makes for awesome presentation. Be sure to check out all the photos by our members who have taken time to add great looking pics.

And always one breakfast of homemade bacon, breakfast sausage and eggs of choice usually scrambled. This one generally cooked by son and the grandsons.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/old-e ... tties-2294
A great make ahead ready to pop in the oven and another that never fails to impress, Creme Brulee French Toast.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/creme ... oast-28363
And another that is great for overnight guests, brunch or mid morning coffee.

For the muffin lovers be it for brunch or mid morning coffee hour sharing the favorites at our house.
Banana muffins are a favorite at our house, a mom recipe that like most old fashioned recipes moist and delicious and I for one love the streusel topping.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/best- ... ffins-1932
Another recipe from our family cookbook that goes back a long way is Carrot Muffins, when it comes to carrot cake or carrot muffins this is my all time favorite.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/carro ... ffins-1930
Another family favourite from my mom's recipe collection, delicious and moist caramel topped cupcake muffins. They are Irresistibly good with or without the home made icing. The icing makes for over the top.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/caram ... ffins-2692
Along with muffins Monkey Breads are wonderful additions to brunches, both the Orange Bubble Bun and the Cinnamon Bun Ring that we call mini cinnamon buns are really easy to make and always impress. Here I use my Feather Bread recipe on the dough cycle for the dough.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/monke ... e-bun-7248
No photo on this one but being a family that loves homemade cinnamon buns I find this Monkey Bread a super easy mini cinnamon bun recipe. The aroma wafting throughout the house has everyone anticipating, inverted on a cake plate makes for awesome presentation, tastes so incredibly good and perfect for the holiday table.
https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/monke ... e-bun-7246
For both these recipes I use my Feather Bread recipe on the dugh cycle for the dough, it's just the right amount for the Monkey Bread recipes and pull apart breads. It's also the recipe I use for my dinner buns, rolls and bread.

These are recipes that have become part of our Easter celebrations, having the Easter Holiday Collection in one place has the recipes right at hand come time to decide on the menus. I hope you will find some recipes you will enjoy and in turn looking to see you join in and share your special holiday recipes.

On Good Friday traditionally we have fish, over the years we have become very partial to salmon. These years we are a much smaller group so no longer a super large salmon stuffed with a herbed bread dressing with plenty of fresh herbs and green onion snipped in. The aroma alone is worth a five star rating!
When there are enough of us to warrant a large salmon fillet we do a dressing and if the weather is good it is done on the barbecue. For smaller gatherings I choose serving size Baked Salmon For Salmon Lovers.

When stuffing for the most part I go with the herbed bread dressing but we also love variety. Being seafood lovers no surprise the recipe I found in an old community cookbook is one we enjoy. Crab Dressing for Salmon or Fish was a great find.
Crab Dressing For Salmon or Fish

When serving seafood along with the usual Tartar Sauce and Seafood Cocktail I like to add one from my old handwritten cookbook, Dill and Mayonnaise For Grilled Salmon.

https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/dill- ... lmon-19571
One of the givens when we serve salmon and fish is cole slaw, for well over twenty years my go to is Deluxe Cole Slaw.

Good Friday lunch, this year spaghetti topped with the Parsley Pesto. This is daughters recipe going back a good number of years. Initially we heard ‘not going to eat green spaghetti’ not long after it became one of the most requested Pasta toppings. This is a great make ahead which I keep refrigerated in a lidded jar. If there are more of us I also offer a Spaghetti Sauce.

Caesar Salad pairs well with Pasta dishes, our go to is Cathy's Caesar Salad Dressinghttps://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/cathy ... ssing-7456
Thinking to Side Dishes for the holiday table. With the turkey mashed potatoes are a given. With ham we love the simple old fashioned Scalloped Potatoes we have been making for generations. Seeing that family is beginning to ask for the recipe, I must get it down on paper. Another is Chantilly Potatoes.

This year I have also asked daughter to bring her new Bean Salad which she has tweaked along with adding her favorite beans and chickpeas. I enjoyed this one this past week and immediately asked for the recipe. It will come along with the salad. I will definitely be posting that one to have near at hand. Hopefully we may even get a photo.
Going to go through my lists and hopefully get all of my Easter recipes added so in following years need only add new recipes. As I have made mention the recipes are recipes that we make for Easter. I am so hoping we see members adding their special holiday recipes. There are so many Easter Breads and dishes that I haven't made. Please join in and add to our Recipezaaz Easter.

This is one of those old family recipes from the turn of the century a recipe I have been making for years and years. Back when it being my most requested recipe when we gathered for holidays and special occasions it soon became known as our Holiday Buns. Shapes beautifully, makes awesome tasting crusty buns, fluffy rolls and lovely braided breads which I usually sprinkle with sesame seeds. Recipe easily halved and very freezer friendly.

Due to my inexperience the photo is much darker than the golden topping that it was.
Hard boiled eggs in the instapot pressure cooker had me skeptical, admittedly not only skeptical but scared until one of my grandsons made them a while back. An absolute winner, quick, easy cooking, no cracked shells, super easy peeling and yes perfect eggs each and every time!

There are great ways to use the extra colored eggs, we love and make egg salad on Easter Monday, usually see to a potato salad and deviled eggs or we make up a jar of pickled eggs.

I am so pleased to see drop ins! Thank you for adding your Easter menu Patti, so pleased to see a Lamb recipe added to our Easter recipes as I have never made a lamb recipe other than my gran's Lamb Curry!
I see you are also having Lamb ellie. Do you have a special recipe to share as one can never have too many recipe choices! As for dessert suggestions, I am guessing you are looking for something on the lighter side? Let's see what are members can come up with.
