Strawberry Vinegar

Post by QueenBea » Wed Jul 10, 2013 5:06 pm

Here is a super easy recipe I make every year during strawberry season. This is great for making vinaigrette or anything that calls for flavoured vinegar.

The freshly picked berries

Clean, hull and chop berries and place them in a re-sealable bag and refrigerate for 3-4 days.

Strain the berries saving the vinegar in a large container with a pour spout so it is easy to pour into the mason jar or bottle you will be using to store the vinegar in.

The finished product, I pour it into mason jars and keep it in a cool dark place.

Just gorgeous Bea, you really have me intrigued with this vinegar. Trying to think what I could use it for besides dressings. What else do you do with it?

I'm glad I peeked your interest Dissie. :D I replied to your post at the Billboard game. It can also be reduced for a stronger tasting vinegar ;) It then becomes as versatile as balsamic vinegar in my opinion, in fact I have subbed it for that many times ;)
