Re: What do you buy organic?
I grow a fair number of our fruits and veggies: lettuce, tomato, beans, peas, peppers, herbs, cucumbers, strawberries, citrus. So those are organic. The rest I buy at the farmer's market, so fresh and mostly organic. I usually get wild caught seafood, so am guessing that's "organic". And organic chicken. I used to buy one of the national brands, because of price, but they had so many recalls this year, I thought better of it. Now that I think about it, we eat more organic than I would have thought!

I know it is late to chime in. I spend alot of money in summer at the farmer's market. But mainly buying flats of fruits for canning, dehydrating and freezing. I find out of season fruits cause a grumbly stomach. I do my best to buy organic, when I can afford it. But when the organic farmers are asking $3 for a head of lettuce. It is hard to buy often. But I do support local growers that aren't organic.

We are lucky ( since we no longer garden ) to have a wonderful local farmers market available in the growing season and one of my son's friends and his wife farm near by. They are total organic farmers and we buy all our produce and freah eggs from them ( we used to have chickens ourselves but no longer ). I get my meats ( grass fed, pasture ) raised from a meat delivery service.
