Eggnog .......Advice Please

Post by Ninya » Sat Oct 22, 2011 1:27 pm

I am thinking of making some Eggnog to give to customers at Christmas, just a wee taste. It is not normally made over here. People just tend to buy the odd bottle of Advocaat and drink it with lemonade. So could you advise me on a recipe that would keep happily warm for a few hours maybe, and not be too expensive to make or too alcoholic.

Swedish Chef Makes one I'm sure, that was amazing. I made several containers of it for parties and of course myself last year.

I can't find it, but I am sure it was hers.

I make a cooked eggnog - this recipe is for only 2 servings and has no alcohol included but you can add alcohol to individual servings.

What I am concerned about is you are asking if the eggnog recipe you want to try can sit out at room temp. for a few hours? I am not sure if that is possible and my recipe must be refrigerated overnight for it to taste good cause the flavours get to marry nicely.

Sorry Roxanne, got myself muddled there cos was also thinking of mulled wine   so have no fear the eggnog will not be sitting scrambling itself in a warm room

Hehe, well if that's the case, my eggnog recipe can easily be doubled (when doubled I get a blender full) Dunno if that will be too little for samples. But it is super yummy and hopefully budget friendly too.

Must still have a few server-switching bugs around. I hope you and your customers enjoy it as much as I do :D

Wonderful timing on your question, Ninya - my husband loves eggnog, and he was just asking if I would be in the holiday spirit 2 weeks from now. When I asked why, he gave me a little grin and asked if I could make some eggnog.

Roxanne, I'm saving your recipe to try. I'm not an eggnog fan, but yours sounds really good. You may convert me yet. :D
