What are your favorite appetizers to bring to a Christmas Party or to have when company is coming for the holidays?

I like to make my own smoked salmon (hot smoked, not cold smoked) and serve with a lemon cream or a caper vinaigrette. It always goes over so well.

Lobster mango ceviche in small lettuce cups

Bruschetta topped with a pea and ricotta mint puree and garnished with tomato jam

Sweet and Spicy toasted nuts

Baked olives, served with toasted baguettes

Marinated antipasto skewers. Small skewers of mixed vegetables (tomatoes, mushrooms, mozzarella balls, salami, olives, etc; marinated in a homemade Italian vinaigrette all night.

Pita pizzas with a ricotta or pesto topping vs tomato and topped with roasted vegetables, garnished with feta cheese, served room temp and sliced in thin wedges.

Skewers of my Bloody Mary steak. Served warm or room temp, garnished with homemade blue cheese dressing with celery bits.

Cheese spread, topped with fig jam and fresh figs. Assorted crackers on the side.

My cranberry apple punch or a mulled spiced wine

Pesto, feta, and sun dried tomato pin wheels, baked and served warm or room temp.

And most of my friends love seafood, so shrimp and mussels are common to have as well or oysters. Sometimes just steamed; or chilled or even grilled. My spicy grilled shrimp with a mango dip are always liked or the steamed mussels in beer or white wine.

I also do seared scallops in a champagne cream sauce.

I really try to customize my appetizers to match my dinner and also try to make things I know my guests enjoy. I always think the appys start the dinner, so some of the same tastes should carry over to the dinner.

A few of my favorites

I forgot the links. Not all are posted, and some are versions of the original recipe made to make an appetizer. I would be glad to share any of the recipes, but right now I probably won't have time to upload anything until after the holidays unfortunately.
