Re: ~*~ Thanksgiving This Year ~*~
I always have 2 Tdays!
One me, and my son comes over later for leftovers. He is normally working.
But, I make my classic roast turkey, ham, mashed spots, dressing, homemade butter, crescent rolls, green bean casserole, cranberry; and pumpkin pie.
Now, I confess - for just me ... I do cheat a bit. If I have company NO - but for me ... a little cheat.
- Cheat, I use ocean spray cranberry sauce; but, I add orange zest, orange liquor, nuts, etc.
- For the stuffing, I do use pepperidge farm cubes ... but saute all the veggies; add broth, mushrooms, etc.
- For the rolls, I HATE TO BAKE, The Dough boy comes in handy, crescent rolls
- But, I make home made butter (every year since age 12, missed one year. REALLY), some with honey for the rolls, plain for the spuds.
- The spuds ... I make with 1 tiny sweet potato, broth, butter, and lots of love. NO heavy sour cream needed.
- Green bean casserole. For me ... yes, the soup can and fried onions. For friends ... homemade soup and onions.
- Ham, just a good baked ham, same with the turkey.
- Pie, classic pumpkin for me. If for friends ... I make a spicy gingered carrot cake too. LOTS of whipped cream and spiced wine to start; and spiced coffee to end.

I will try to post a few links later; but very classic.

Now, Tday 2 with my poker friends ... we do a theme each year. Cajun one year, TX one year, this year it is Seattle ... NO clue. One friend is from there; so, he has seafood in his stuffing; and seafood sides. So, who knows.
We will find out more later. He makes the menu ... we just cook!!!

I will say; when or if I have friends over ... I do change up my stuffing or cran sauce a bit ... depending on what they like. But, it is pretty much copy out of the playbook for me. I don't want anything new or different.
Will be back!!
