How to post a photo to the forums

Post by QueenBea » Sat Apr 14, 2012 1:11 pm

For those who do not upload photos to an Image Hosting Site such as photobucket, you can still add photos to the forum by linking to recipe photos from here on the site or to other photos on the internet. Here are instructions on how to do so.

Using a PC by QueenBea

- Right click over the photo you want to post (can be any photo on the internet or a photo uploaded to a recipe here).

- Click on the properties tag. (A box will pop up with general info on the photo)
- In the Dimensions tab, make sure the pixels say 500 x 500 or less or the photo will be too big to post.

-If the photo dimensions are 500 x 500 pixels or less you may copy and paste the Address URL (http ://… blah blah blah.jpg) into the forum message box.

- Don’t know how to copy and paste well then here is what to do.

- Left click the mouse and hold down the button and scroll over the entire URL until it is all highlighted and release the left button.

- Right click over the highlighted area and click on copy.

- Go the forum page where you want to post the photo, open up a message window, by clicking on the POSTREPLY button.

- Above the message box there are a few tabs with different options, click on the IMG tab. You will have this showing in you message box [ /img]

- Place your cursor directly in between those 2 facing brackets (|[ /img]) where you see the red line here.

- Right click and hit paste, the URL you copied should now be in between those brackets, do not enter anything else in between those brackets.

- To add another photo, repeat these steps as listed.

Now continue on with your message and submit when ready.

For Mac users: by Bergy

First read through QueenBea's Instructions then follow these steps for a MacIntosh

- Open up the recipe or picture on the internet that you want to copy to a forum.

- Hold down control, click on the photo.

-Scroll down to "View Image Info" release mouse.

- When the window opens Highlight the entire http line that is to the right of the word Location, release mouse.

- Hit Command S.

- Open where you want to post the photo and go to "Edit" in your menu bar click "paste" You want the http between [img] and [/img} Either do this by clicking on" img" above this message box or do it manually.

N.B. if your photo posts in a mini size chech your url and if you see "Cache 130x130" delete that part of the URL

And there you have it.

If you have any questions, feel free to zmail the corresponding poster (Bea for PC and Bergy for MAC) and we will reply as soon as we possibly can.
