She's still acting as if I have fallen off the face of the earth. I'm going to try to eat some leftover chicken stir-fry for dinner, but my stomach is so tied up in knots I'm having trouble sipping tea right now so I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that once again she won't be eating anything I've made. I had always read about thick tension in books, but I really didn't know it could actually be a physical presence.

It's still raining, and just shy of 50F.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

How's is everyone's shopping going? Are we all ready for the Holidays? Well, I took my son shopping ... what an experience. 1:45 just at one store. He is a clothes hog, shoe fanatic, and picky ... OMG. Tried on 10 pants, just to find 1. It takes him 10 minutes just to pick out a bottle of shampoo. He has to smell each one. I was mentally exhausted.

Today's cooking ...
This week is ultra easy. Honestly, I am not doing much cooking at all. I'm using up stuff in the freezer, soups, ham, or turkey from Thanksgiving I can thaw and just heat up. Lots of veggies from my garden. The idea is easy. Next Sat I have a small party for the poker group - drinks and nibbles, NOT fancy,

Lady #1 and #2: Church function

Me: Baked chicken wings with a spicy BBQ sauce; salad from the garden; carrots and celery with dip

Christmas is at my house on Sunday. I have my food planned and will be picking up everything I need today and tomorrow, but since I have not one gift bought I'm planning to totally wing it on gifts on Wednesday at the local fabulous book store. I get lucky in that we don't do gifts for the adults any more, and all my nieces and nephews except the 17-year-old read like fiends. For her, I'm getting CDs, which they also carry. I LOVE one-stop shopping!

When we got up this morning mom started talking to me as if nothing ever happened. It's busy enough that I'm letting her get away with it even though 4+ days of her pretending I don't exist was pretty awful. Maybe she'll eat dinner if I make it, so I'm thinking roasted thick-cut boneless pork chops and a couple of vegetables.

Today is my first day of post-surgery physical therapy, then we're off to the grocery store, the drug store, and the library. I hope I don't die.

It is lovely here the last few days, highs in the 70s. So tonight will be grilled mesquite chicken and...macaroni and cheese from a pouch

Ugh Felix, that sounds horrible to say the least.

Today I had planned on making monte cristo sandwiches but I'm am so stinking tired I don't know if I can even handle that. I did make a batch of black bean soup yesterday for my lunches this week and all that would require there is turning on the stove to reheat so that may be it.

Morning Everyone!

Working from home today; having some work going on in the house today and tomorrow; on top of that, I feel really lousy today. Not sure why, just really tired, under the weather, etc.

I was going to work tonight, but called in sick. So I will just have to do as much as I can from home.

Tonight, I have some leftover chicken wings, also some salad, or soup too,

Today I start my holiday baking, so what usually happens is that around 5:30pm I'm either putting cookies in the oven or taking them out and I all of a sudden realize I should have made a plan for dinner, but since I'm mid-cookies I can't. Luckily, I have leftover stir-fry, so I'll probably end up microwaving that.

I did end up making those monte cristo sandwiches last night and they were pretty good. :) Tonight I'm making a chicken bake with rice and broccoli.
