I wished you had been able to take a
photo. At least we could have "winged " the recipe
from that.
All kidding aside I hope the kiddo is doing better. :)

Ginger paste is nothing more than fresh ginger root, peeled and coarsely chopped and water (about 4 ounces of ginger and 1/2 cup water), and pureed in the blender; then stored in the refrigerator.
Or you could do like I do. Buy some ginger root, peel it, put in a freezer zip lock bag and store it in the freezer. When you need fresh ginger, just take out a piece and grate it into your recipe. It's easy to grate when frozen. I use a fine grater, like you would use for citrus zest.

Thanks -- I used fresh ginger -- but how long does the paste last in the fridge?

That I really don't know. I've never used it. I would suppose a couple weeks. Or you could put it in a freezer-grade zip lock bag, flatten it out somewhat and freeze it. Then when you need some, you could easily break some off.

My lil dude feels so much better.. I will have to do the advertising trick of using elmers glue instead of milk because it doesnt look so appetizing... though I dont know what the daily allowance of Glue is supposed to be lololol
