Morning All!

Nin, check email ... soup recipe for you.
Well, not much rain yesterday; but, we had enough for a while. We still need a lot more. Cool today, only 68.

One of my cats is in PERMANENT time out after jumping on my glass end table and not only managing to flip the glass on the floor but broke a very very expensive (500+) ceramic platter. And chipped my floor tile as well. Guess what kitty is getting in his stocking ... I can guarantee it won't be kitty treat.

Dinner ...

Well, finally had my Mexican salad, good stuff. Lady #3 has family in town.
So me, Kale and Sausage Soup; or a close version of it. I have some peppers, and I may leave out the corn ... but, either way, it will have most of the ingredients. And a loaf of warm bread.

And the kale ... right out of my garden.

Not entirely sure what we are having tonight. It is a toss up between eating out, making a tortellini dish I wanted to make, or possibly chicken sandwiches. It partly depends on who will be eating. BF hasn't been very hungry the past couple of days, and if dd isn't planning to eat at home, then I don't want to bother wasting meat. I am happy with a cup of soup and some salad.

I did get some holiday baking done last night - although technically not baking. I made some peanut butter balls - really good! They were from one of Trisha Yearwood's cookbooks and are very yummy. Totally different from the buckeye type pb balls I have had in the past. Even let the dog sneak a bite.

Hoping to get either my fruitcake or some more cookies made today.

The heatwave is here! Currently 45F and sunny, with no snow or rain in sight until Saturday (when we're supposed to get hit pretty good with a snow storm).

Dinner tonight will be a chicken stir-fry I'm going to make up as I go along. So far I know it'll have onion, broccoli and red bell pepper, and quite possibly peas. We'll see how it goes, and if it doesn't suck it'll become a recipe. :D

I will be finishing up Christmas stocking stuffer shopping after work tonight so we may all fend for ourselves. I do have meat marinading for a stir fry but I don't think I will get to that until tomorrow.

Afternoon,

I have been shopping & will start/finsh Churh's brussel soup this evening.

Then I will be making " Invictus's" cashew chicken in the crock pot.

Also purchased 1lb of chestnuts to roast.

Felix temp here is now 39F not bad. I got to wear my running shoes today instead of my snow boot.

I made tacos for lunch...thinking that would be supper as I came in at midnight...I ended up eating a salad, plain just dressing on lettuce...wasnt in the mood or any mood....well, thats a lie, bad mood, made a windsor coke and am enjoying that...only ate half my salad!

I just took out some chicken breasts for tomorrow....saw a recipe/pic in the photo forum....trying or thinking of trying to turn it into a crockpot recipe. Looked delicious....

It's cold, cold, cold...did I mention cold? This moving back to MN after 22 years is hard....I think I am getting depressed. And today I told DH, its not even winter yet! That made me think after I said it! I think I am dealing with it so much better than he is......Cold all the time is awful......He hates it....wants to go back to GA. With my parents in their 70's, I want to stay. We will see who wins!

Morning Everyone!

Rise and Shine ... 5am, why isn't everyone up, lol.
Actually, been up snce 4:30. I got my 5 hrs in - that's great for me. Busy busy day ahead; so got to get going.

Got some minor stocking shopping done for my son; and got him to commit to go shopping with me Sat, so we can get most of his presents. Otherwise, work, cooking for the ladies, and volunteering at the nursing home

This year, I'm not doing my cooking tree/cooking classes (long story, but still volunteering). My cooking tree and classes will be in February. The nursing home was sold - under new owners, and they already had plans for Xmas. But, I still go every Fri to volunteer.

Cooking today ...

Taking a caramel/pumpkin dip with fruit and spicy crackers; and, spiced (non alcoholic) cider to the nursing home today at noon before lunch. A little volunteering and TLC.

Lady #1 and #2: Card/Game Night - short ribs
Ribs in the crock pot; baby 2x baked stuffed spuds; cheesy corn dip; iceberg lettuce wedges with the classic toppings.

Me: HH with a friend at our Mexican place. They have a great HH special (sampler) for 5.99 - enough food for 2 people. We share that, a couple of margaritas each (2 for 1); and their comp chips and salsa and it is dinner. Sometimes we share their mini Mexican fried ice cream balls and call it a night. It ends up like 9-12 each including a HEFTY tip; and plenty of food. Can't beat that.

Since it is a mom and pop place and we are good customers, they often throw in dessert or a free appie for us.

I am way behind on the holidays this year - haven't even put up my tree or lights yet! No gifts made or bought either, and usually I am ready to go by now.

Still need to get more baking done today - scrapped my plans to make cookies and made some jumbo banana choco chip muffins at my BF's request. They came out very well and nice and huge. We ate leftovers and ramen last night. I was feeling horrible from allergies and didn't want to cook anything else.

Soooo tonight I hopefully will get some chicken made - probably anniversary chicken since I know BF likes it. That is assuming I get to the store, which I dread this time of year - so crowded.

HF, WALLY WORLD (Walmart) 4am. It's wonderful, trust me. Best time to go. Got stocking stuffers, chicken, pork, some veggies, soda, beer, even wine. Paper, cat stuff and even some craft items which I needed, and a gallon of paint.

Yippee!! I was first in line ... unimaginable right? Loved it. Farmers market and I'm set for almost a whole week. Now, I'm not the biggest Walmart Fan ... but, why not. One stop and done. I love to shop the sales, but sometimes, all the running around is more costly than a 1 stop wonder.

Now, sleep is another matter all together.

Morning, all! I actually have a plan! I believe it's a true Cmas miracle  Making a roasted pork tenderloin, mashed taters and gravy, green beans. It's so cold, that all sounds really good!

How is everyone? I rarely get here these days as I'm always on my ipad due to the Jumbo Dog and it's kinda difficult with the ipad.
