Yesterday we had a "Storm Warning" in effect. Had it all, high winds, hail, snow & rain. Temp continues to drop this morning with more rain & snow expected.

Yesterday I received a site from Computer Tips which I like a lot. Coping & pasting many recipes. http://www.ourbestbites.com/

Having friends in for a hockey game this week & I want to make a number of dips. Using the site above I have made my choices.

http://www.ourbestbites.com/ Bacon Tomato Basil Dip in the front page.

http://www.ourbestbites.com/2012/01/15- ... r-any-day/ More dip recipes.

Also a frittata recipe that received great reviews. I copied & pasted many recipes from this link as I cut up & froze a ham last week.

I left a review on Felix's Teriyaki Chicken marinade. It was very good & I will be making it again.

Today I am making veg. soup as the weather is cold.

Morning All!

Hockey night sounds fun; nice selection of "nibbles."
We aren't cold here, but only 72 today and it was in the 50's last night. That is unusual for FL this time of year. But it is sunny, breezy and very nice.

Made my soup last night which turned out very nice; so I will have that for lunch and freeze a couple of containers for later on. Love soup on a cool night.

Today, comfort food ...
Scalloped potatoes with small sausages. This is a dish my Mom used to make all the time and I still love it.
The potatoes have no cheese. I make it with broth and milk, a little butter, thin sliced onions, spuds of course and thyme. Then I top with those "Brown and Serve" breakfast sauces, but I use the turkey ones. They are just too good with the potatoes.
On the side, a small salad I think, or maybe baby peas; that is what Mom served it with.

Last night I managed to cook the pork but nothing else so we ended up eating cereal and top ramen lol. Tonight will be that pork fried rice.

Trapped working out of town (Young Frankenstein is on tour, and I'm dressing it for two days), and riding with vegetarians. So...I brought food. Leftover cheesy crab casserole, yogurt and a bagel. Could be worse.

Hi all! I am finally cooking something somewhat creative tonight. I usually do a fridge veggie clean-out on weekends, but I had some things needing to get used up sooner so I tinkered with an old casserole using what I had handy, my tastes, and trying to keep it low carb. It is a zucchini casserole without any cream of soup sauce - just cheese and eggs and sour cream. It also has bacon and Cheddar cheese in there. It is baking right now and smells good. Hope it turns out well.

I have a plan! Thundering hooves, LOL. I'm making a roast in the slow cooker with onion, potatoes and carrots.

Morning

Easy tonight, busy morning.

Pan seared tilapia with a pineapple salsa over jasmine rice. Or maybe some grilled zucchini.

For lunch, I finished up the leftovers of Felix's teriyaki chicken as chicken salad. It was very good & will make extra chicken when making this recipe next time.

Dinner will be veg. soup again with buttery rolls.

Went to the Farmer's Market & they had local asparagus so I picked up 2lbs. I did not purchase enough to make a big batch of soup yet as the price is too high at this time.

Weather is not to bad today as the sun is out. Tomorrow we are back into the rain. We need the rain so it is a good thing in the end.
