Re: What's Everyone Reading?

Indefensible by Lee Goodman. This was simultaneously fascinating and hard to get into. The characters were both really detailed and vague. If that doesn't make sense, it's because it doesn't. Some aspects of the plot and characters is detailed to death, and then suddenly there's a leap and it takes...

Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - SEPTEMBER 2014

It was acknowledged by the powers that be when I reported it on the FB page, so it wasn't just me. You're the only person I know who has trouble with FB, and one of very few who has problems with Photobucket. This site goes down at least once a week for a few hours; has been since about June.

Re: What's Everyone Reading?

Elizabeth is Missing by Emma Healey. This was frustrating to read, but that's because it's supposed to be. It's told from the POV of Maud, who obviously is suffering from Alzheimer's. It jumps back and forth between present day and her childhood, where her best friend is missing today but her siste...

Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - SEPTEMBER 2014

Hey, the site is back up! I sure wish they'd figure out what it is that causes it to go down at least once a week for several hours. It makes them look bad and very unprofessional. Dinner tonight will be some kind of casserole, involving boxed stuffing mix, canned chicken, turkey gravy from a jar, a...

Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - SEPTEMBER 2014

Thanks Felix! I appreciate the encouragement. So glad you are getting to take it slow at first. I know the first 8 hour shift is going to a nightmare. But I do have some painkillers left and I am going to ask dr for some more tramadol. Tramadol has been my great good friend while working, Norco aft...

Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - SEPTEMBER 2014

I worked this morning. Small show, but it was a full four hours and I'm pretty sure I'm never leaving this recliner again. Therefore, dinner will be whatever I scrounge up that can be microwaved, or perhaps eaten cold. I know it'll get better and the only way to make it so is to keep working, but in...

Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - SEPTEMBER 2014

I would have immediately shot myself between the eyes if it snowed.

Not sure I'm kidding... X_X

Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - SEPTEMBER 2014

Tonight I was going to do leftovers again, but since it turned stupid cold (more like late October than mid-September), I'm making a variation of #recipe585. Fresh baby bellas instead of canned mushrooms, yellow onion instead of green, fresh tomatoes instead of canned diced, and kidney beans instead...

Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - SEPTEMBER 2014

I will freely admit I could have kissed someone when I found out tonight was only going to be 2 1/2 hours... about 90 minutes in I was questioning my sanity. One thing of which I am entirely too aware is how much you use your toes to walk! I've had to re-learn how to walk twice, and now have t...

Re: WHAT'S FOR DINNER - SEPTEMBER 2014

I'm WORKING tonight!!!!!! Through a scheduling snafu my first day back will be for about 4-5 hours tonight instead of 16-18 tomorrow, and I am perfectly OK with that. Had I been awake at 8:20 this morning when the text came in that the day had changed I would have been there already, but I didn't he...
