Re: GF-are you on the band wagon?
Interesting Denise. The recipe I use is too soft to use those, it would seep through as it rises I think. GF bread dough has the consistency of muffin dough, you pour it into a pan that is big enough for it to completely rise in without going over the edge of the pan, not like wheat bread dough whi...

Re: GF-are you on the band wagon?
I have seen folks using canning jars. I'm too lazy to go to the trouble, I eat about one hamburger bun a month, if that. I bought a pack of the Kinnikinnick, excellent - and should last me about 2 months. I don't know how well this works?? http://rebeccabaerartfulliving.blogspot.com/2012/12/create-i...

Re: GF-are you on the band wagon?
The only products I buy gluten free are pasta and bread. I don't buy any of that other stuff. I do buy Udi's bread and don't love it, but I made my own bread and thought the texture was crumbly. I need to just try a different recipe. I made sourdough pizza crust last night. I froze it for later use,...

Re: GF-are you on the band wagon?
I decided to go gluten free on a 2 week trial basis because I do have all the symptoms of Celiac and I have a family member who has been diagnosed with Celiac. Within one week my leg cramps were gone and my hands and feet had stopped tingling all the time. No more running to the bathroom the instant...

MSG gives me heart palpitations. Seriously. If I eat Doritos, my heart will be racing and I feel breathless and will typically get a minor headache. I love them, but stopped eating them quite some time ago.

Re: Grocery Bill
I have a family of 3. We spend easily $100 per week. I spend even more when I am buying my meats for the month. I generally buy bulk meats and freeze in dinner size portions. So one trip might be almost $200 when I am purchasing meats for the month. So with 2, it will probably be a little less, but...
