Re: I need beef liver recipes
Hi, Dissie! It's been a while since I've been here, but fate must have led me to your liver recipe quest! My mother used to make a casserole with beef liver that people who HATED liver would eat. The recipe came from my Aunt Gwen. All I have is directions, so you'll have to sort of wing it on the am...

Re: Starting your seeds yet?
I use Earth Box for my tomatoes. They get about 6' tall. I get more tomatoes from 1 plant than most can eat, especially cherries or plums. They have ones on stands and smaller ones too. Great to plant, and you can't over water. Thanks for posting this! I've been intrigued by Earth Boxes for a while...

Re: Storing Fresh Bread
Hi, Dissie! :) I'm back from a long hiatus... I've just started getting back into baking and I've found that the Debbie Meyer bread bags (like the green veggie bags, but for bread) do help keep the bread fresh and moist for several days longer than plain plastic bags. Back in the day, about 35 years...

Re: Come On In . .
[tiptoes in after a long absence] Hi, I'm back at Zazz after a long hiatus. I've retired (YAY) and have started to get back into bread baking. I've done well with basic white bread from James Beard (better with bread flour than AP, we think), and a whole wheat bread that we used to make in NYC 35 ye...

Re: Lets get talking!
Elsie, I never thought to take pictures to add to my recipes. Sometimes there are directions like "bake until flattened, crackled and darker," and it would be helpful for some people to actually SEE that. Thanks for the idea! It's coming up on Christmas cookie season, and that direction above is in ...

Re: Easy freezer meals
Just last weekend I went into the freezer and got out some spaghetti sauce I made before the weather got hot. I also freeze beef stew and Soboro: http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/soboro#hide-comments Whenever I make things like that I make LOTS and freeze in containers that will serve 2. Another thi...

Re: Lets get talking!
Dissie, if you're a crockpot pro I may start nagging you for some of your recipes! I love mine, but it's mostly used to stew chickens for chicken salad (and all that yummy broth) and a pork loin roast that we love. Do you use a pressure cooker? DH got me one, but so far I've been too much of a cowar...

Re: Surgery on Tuesday
Felix, so glad you've had your surgery and are on the mend! The only advice I can offer is don't do what one of our doctors at work did. He had foot/ankle surgery with pins and screws, and was told NOT to put full weight on that foot and keep it elevated as much as possible. Right. Try telling a doc...

Re: Organic?????
I don't seek out organic foods, but if an organic item (salad greens, for example, where we live) is about the same price as non-organic I'll go for the organic to avoid pesticides. I've heard that organic free-range chicken is supposed to be SOOOO much better, and let's not even get into turkey at ...
