| Kittencal's Hamburgers With Onions And Beef Gravy (Salisbury Steak) | Re: Kittencal's Hamburgers With Onions And Beef Gravy (Salisbury Steak) | This is a very good recipe. Very filling. I got 8 patties out of the recipe. Had some problem with the gravy but that was me. So I started over and mixed the flour in the onions and mushrooms and then put them in the broth to thicken the gravy! Worked out great! I'll have to remember that trick! Good meal to server to a bunch on a "kinda tight" budget! | |
| Chunky Vegetable Clam Chowder | Re: Chunky Vegetable Clam Chowder | I never would eat anything with clams before. We took a trip to Washington St. and I had clam chowder. Not so bad. So I looked for a recipe when we got home. I found this one and decided to try it. I'm telling you, you can't go wrong with this one! It's absolutely wonderful so long as you don't forget to make sure the clams are chopped! I forgot the second time I made this and well...I wasn't so thrilled then but that was my fault. It's easy to make. Really good flavor. The bacon I used gave it kind of a smoky flavor. I served this with home made bread from scratch. Husband and I both think that this is a keeper. Even my daughter in law that don't like clams either liked this! Good Job Gerry999" | |
| Barley Burger Stew for Two | Re: Barley Burger Stew for Two |
I made this for recipe tag. It was very good and my husband liked it too. I do think though that it has too much tomato flavor to let other ingredients come through. It's easy to make and I made mine in a slow cooker. I did brown the meat first with the onions. I used stew meat because I had that thawed out and had to use it. I also added some garlic and abouct a tablespoon of beef base to give it flavor. We like more in stew recipes so added potatoes and carrots too. I will make this again but probably with less tomato juice and more water and beef base. I liked the way it thickened too. Thank you for posting Kissikate!
| |
| Grilled Salmon with Honey Mustard Dressing | Re: Grilled Salmon with Honey Mustard Dressing | We love salmon and I have a few great recipes and this one will be added right along with them. The homey mustard gives the salmon a little different flavor and boy it's terrific! I found a bottle of dressing in Wal-Mart produce section. Never used it before so I tried it on lettuce salad first and loved that too! It's "Marketside" brand. Honey Dijon Dressing. It's all natural. I'll surly be making this one again. Maybe on the grill this summer! Great recipe! |
