BIO:
I live in Saskatchewan where hospitality and food go hand in hand, potlucks, community and church suppers, Beef Pit barbecues, tea and bake sales. Booths at the hockey and curling rink in winter, ball games in summer. Events for most part the efforts of volunteers sharing their best make and takes. Small communities as well as the larger centres are well known for their turkey suppers, cabbage rolls, perogies, and overflowing dessert tables. Home made of course! I love time spent in my kitchen preparing meals for my family and friends, sharing recipes be they mine or that of another. Enjoy participating in potlucks, coffee hours and bake sales. Admittedly my interest in gardening exceeds that of the norm, my collection of community and church cookbooks ever growing, love yard sales, take great pleasure in reading with non fiction being my first choice when it comes to the choosing. When it comes to cooking sites it's the combination of recipes, reviews, great photos and the boards where I find great conversations and some of my best recipe finds that keep me coming back - all right here at Recipezazz. Would love to see you stop and visit us in our Potluck forum. Be sure to drop by!

| Basic Beef Stew | Re: Basic Beef Stew | Flavourful, tender, rich and delicious! The aroma alone rates top stars as do the excellent instructions. The aroma was such I'm sure the neighbours knew we were having one great supper. Thank you for sharing a recipe that has gone into my family cookbook. | |
| Thick And Healthy Red Lentil Soup | Re: Thick And Healthy Red Lentil Soup | We love this soup! Thick and hearty and very satisfying with wonderful old fashioned flavour. Healthy too! Made as posted and wouldn't change a thing.Thank you for another of your great recipes to add to our family favourites cookbook. | |
| Roasted Cauliflower with Garlic and Rosemary | Re: Roasted Cauliflower with Garlic and Rosemary | The garlic and rosemary add plenty of flavour to the roasted cauliflower making it a great vegetable side dish. I only used four cloves of garlic because that was all I had on hand but it added plenty of flavour. Love the taste of roasted garlic so next time will add the works likely adding the extra ones whole. Thank you for a recipe that will be seeing to repeats at our house. | |
| Pumpkin Pie | Re: Pumpkin Pie | Awesome pumpkin Pie! Made two for our Canadian Thanksgiving in October, a wonderful ending to our holiday meal. I spotted this recipe in the forums, immediately recognised it as the recipe from my mom that went missing when we moved! Other than having to heat the milk on the stove top back then but it's the one I've been searching for! I thank you, my mom thanks you, my family all thank you! As for everyone at our Thanksgiving table it was - "it's the best pumpkin pie I have ever tasted!" Always did say the forums have made for some of my best recipe finds! | |
| Cranberry Banana Bread | Re: Cranberry Banana Bread | Admittedly your photo was what caught my attention, it has such eye appeal. Happy to say we all agreed it tastes as good as it looks. Moist, great texture and delicious! Into my favourites file for the holiday stash and coffee time. Can't wait to wow them at our next potluck brunch. Canadian Thanksgiving made fresh cranberries an easy find, I'm sure the frozen would work equally well. Next time the muffins. Thank you Derf. |
