"Not certain as to the amount of servings for this so I have left it at 0. This is a very low fat chili, you can substitute ground turkey for the beef. This can also be made on top of the stove. 1/2 cup serving = 2 pts/or 1 cup = 2 pts"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cook the ground beef and garlic in a nonstick skillet breaking apart the meat with a spoon until well browned; drain off any fat very well, then return to skillet. Add in the bell peppers; cook until softened (about 5 minutes). Add in the chili powder and cumin and stir to coat.

Step 2

In the slow cooker, mix together tomatoes, beans, chopped onion, chilies and tomato paste, then stir in the beef mixture. Cover and cook on HIGH until flavors are blended (about 4-5 hours). Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

I cut the recipe in half but used the total amount of beans...this is really a thick chili so next time I'm not going to drain the beans...nice and tasty...thanks for sharing your recipe...

We enjoyed this chili although I did make it a bit milked than suggested. Very thick and good! Thanks for sharing!

Delicious, thick and substantial chili. I made this as directed but added some water to make it a bit less thick. I think I prefer the less intense tomato flavor of diced tomatoes rather than crushed and would substitute those next time but that's just a personal preference. All in all, this chili is very good.

very easy to put together, throw in slow cooker and it's ready without thinking about it. I added 16 oz water just to thin it out for my taste. Not spicy, although you could easily add more chili seasoning, or cayenne if you liked. LOVE the addition of bell peppers, easy way to get more veggies in ya!!
