"Field peas, 1 lb field peas which looked a little like lentils, cooked 20 minutes, drained was what recipe called for, I'm using canned, their bacon was hammier so I think you could sub ham, their turnips were swedes or rutabaga. From ribevikingecenter"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Add milk that has been mixed with the wheat flour to the turnips; cook 10 minutes kinda mashing the turnips (should be thick and creamy).

Step 2

Cook peas in bacon grease adding the bacon.

Step 3

Put turnips in bowl, then put beans and bacon on top.
